Do you do stone refacing too?

Yes—it's work we're asked about more and more. Stacked stone, stone veneer, or tile over a tired surround, with a new mantel and hearth to match. Your in-home consultation covers the measurements and the options.

Should you choose a wood or non-combustible mantel?

It comes down to clearances. A classic wood mantel needs safe distance from the firebox; non-combustible shelves can sit closer, which is why they're the answer over many gas and high-output units. We measure and confirm what your fireplace allows before anything is ordered.

Can a mantel sit close to a gas fireplace?

A non-combustible one can. MagraHearth mantels are cast in lightweight concrete, so they act as a heat barrier and can be installed lower and closer to the firebox than real wood or stone, which also protects a TV or artwork above the mantel. We confirm the exact clearance for your unit at the consultation.

Are the mantels stocked, or made to order?
