The Rosedale Electric slides into most wood, masonry, or gas fireplace openings for a clean, finished look, so the retrofit is simple instead of a construction project. Leave the opening as it is and it stays a cold hole in the wall; put the Rosedale Electric in it and the fire is back, on your terms. What Makes It Special The fire is the point, and this one earns a second look. Multi-layer flame technology builds the fire the way a real one grows—front to back, sides to middle—in 5 speeds and brightness levels, over a glowing split oak log set and a modulating ember bed. The glass is tinted and anti-glare, so you see the fire, not your lamp reflected in it. With 13 top light and 5 ember colors, plus more combinations in the Napoleon Home app, the look is yours to tune. Plug it into a standard outlet for comfort heat, or have it hardwired at 240 volts and the output doubles—at full output it warms approximately 250–500 square feet, the room the fireplace lives in. ECO mode runs at half heat to use less electricity, and BOOST runs the heater at maximum with the fan turned up when you want the room warm fast. It also shares its rough framing with Napoleon’s Rosedale gas inserts, so in a new build you can frame the wall now and choose your fuel later. Possible Downsides • Full heat requires a hardwired 240-volt connection; on a standard 120-volt plug it delivers half the output.• It warms the room it’s in, not the whole floor; if you want a primary heater, look at a Rosedale gas insert.• Faceplates, backerplates, and the wall mount controller are optional accessories, not included with the unit.
