Who It’s For A fireplace goes on one wall, so one room gets the fire and the room behind it gets drywall. When the fireplace is doubling as the divider between the living room and the dining room, half the house spends the evening looking at the back of it. You need a fire you can see from every seat, in both rooms. If you’re opening up a floor plan, or splitting one big space into two without losing the light between them, the Ascent Multi-View is the one built for that job. Choose a single-sided fireplace instead and one of those rooms will always be the one without the fire. What Makes It Special The Ascent Multi-View comes two ways: a see-through fireplace open to the rooms on either side, or a three-sided peninsula that shows the fire from the front and both ends. Either way it does two jobs at once—it divides the space, and it gives both sides the fire. The glass is tempered, and a safety barrier is included on every unit. It lights with electronic ignition backed up by batteries, so it still lights and keeps you warm when the power goes out—as long as you’ve kept batteries in it. And it’s backed by Napoleon’s President’s Limited Lifetime warranty. Possible Downsides • Remote controls are optional, not included. The thermostatic model is the one to add if you want the fireplace to hold a set room temperature on its own.• Adjusting flame height requires the optional modulating valve and remote kit.• The battery back-up takes four AA batteries, and they are not included. If you want one fire that two rooms can share, the Ascent Multi-View is the right decision. Dinner on one side, the couch on the other, and the same fire in the middle of it all. The Ascent Multi-View takes glass or log media, glass beads and glass embers in a range of colors, mineral rocks, a metal coil, reflective black porcelain panels, and enhancement kits from nickel stix fire art to wrought iron globes, so the fire can suit both rooms it faces.
