You need a big linear fire that’s safe to live close to. If you want the fire to be the first thing people notice when they walk in—and you’d like a TV or artwork hanging above it—this is your category. A standard linear unit will give you the flames behind a screen; the Luxuria LVX50 gives you the flames, period. What Makes It Special The glass on the LVX50 is a triple-pane guard that is safe to touch. Because the glass itself does the job of a safety barrier, there’s no screen between you and the fire—just flames, edge to edge, close enough for a kid or a dog to wander past without worry. Dynamic Heat Control comes included. It manages heat without a fan, so the fireplace runs quietly, and it keeps the wall above cool enough that a TV or artwork can hang directly above the fireplace, recessed. You can also finish with combustible material right up to the edge, so the wall design is yours to call. Multi-colored LED lights run under the ember bed and across the top, so the fireplace can glow on a summer evening without burning any gas. And if you want the fire visible from two rooms at once, the same unit comes in a see-through version. Possible Downsides • The heat-circulation fan kit is optional, not included; the built-in system works without one.• The wall-mounted control is optional; the remote and mobile app are what come standard.• The indoor/outdoor kit carries a 6–8 week lead time if you’re planning an exterior-wall installation.
