In a space with tall ceilings, the wall wins and the fire loses. You need a fire with height, not just width. If you’re planning a great room, an open main floor, or a commercial space where the fireplace has to carry the room from every seat, the Napoleon Tall Linear Vector 62 is the one built for it. A standard linear unit will give you a handsome strip of fire; this one makes the flames themselves the centerpiece of the wall. What Makes It Special The fire runs over five feet wide and more than two feet tall, and it gets that height without burning extra gas—the flame height comes from the design, not from a bigger fuel bill. Behind it, porcelain reflective panels multiply the view so the fire reads even deeper than it is. The lighting is part of the show. Top lights wash the firebox from above, and the ember bed glows in any color you can set from your phone—the included remote and eFIRE app handle the flame, the lights, and the fan settings from the couch. Where the heat goes is up to you. The optional Dynamic Heat Control system lowers the temperature of the wall above without running a fan, so a TV or artwork can hang directly above the fire; other optional kits move the warmth to another room or send it outdoors entirely. Possible Downsides • No fan is included. Blower and heat-circulation kits are optional add-ons.• Logs and glass media are required selections ordered separately. The fireplace isn’t complete until you’ve chosen both.• This model shows the fire on one side only. If you want to see it from two rooms, look at the see-through version of the same fireplace. The look is yours to set: driftwood, oak, or birch log sets, wrought iron globes, woodland and mineral rock kits, glass beads and glass embers in a range of colors, and an optional black finishing trim for installations that need more coverage.
