If you’re building or remodeling around a wall between two spaces your family actually uses, and you want the fire to belong to both of them, that’s what the see-through Tall Linear Vector 50 is for. Choose a single-sided unit instead and one of those rooms will always be on the wrong side of the wall. What Makes It Special The glass runs more than four feet wide on both faces of the wall, and the flames behind it stand taller than a typical linear fire—Napoleon built this burner for taller flames without more gas to feed them. Reflective porcelain panels line the firebox and mirror the flames, so from either room the fire looks deeper and fuller than the box that holds it. The fire is dressed before it’s even burning: top lights wash down over the logs, and the ember bed glows in any color imaginable—set it from the included remote or the eFIRE app on your phone, along with on, off, and flame height. If a TV is going on the wall above it, the optional Dynamic Heat Control system redirects heat so heat-sensitive things can hang directly above the fire—and it works without a fan, so it does the job quietly.
