Choose a single-sided unit instead and you’ll have to pick a favorite room; this one doesn’t make you. What Makes It Special The glass runs nearly five and a half feet wide and more than two feet tall, open to view from both sides—more than five feet of fire, visible from both rooms. From the dinner table you watch the flames with the living room glowing behind them, and from the couch it works the same way in reverse. The fire stops being a feature of one room and becomes the centerpiece of two. It’s a heater, not just a window. It warms approximately 1,200–2,400 square feet—both rooms it faces, not just one—and the optional fan and heat-distribution kits can push that warmth farther into either space. Possible Downsides • A log kit is required and sold separately. Choose luminous birch, driftwood, or oak.• The fan is optional, not included.
