You need a fire you can see from both rooms at once. If you’re building or remodeling and want the fireplace to work as a room divider—dining on one side, living room on the other—the Napoleon Vector 74 see-through is built for exactly that. It installs into a framed wall with finish work on both sides, so plan it into the project rather than after it. Choose a standard single-sided unit instead and one of those rooms will always be the one without the fire. What Makes It Special This is the widest fire in Napoleon’s Vector lineup—more than six feet of flame visible from every seat in both rooms. MIRRO-FLAME porcelain panels come included; they reflect the flames back at you, so the fire looks deeper and fuller from either side. Every setting runs from the included remote or the eFIRE app on your phone: on and off, flame height, blower speed, and the ember bed. The LED ember bed and top lights take any color you pick, so the fire matches the room, the season, or the evening. If a TV is going above it, the optional Dynamic Heat Control system lowers the wall temperature without a fan, so it runs quietly. The ducted heat management option goes further: install the unit as a true room divider and pass cables safely through the wall, or move the warmth to another room entirely. Possible Downsides • No media comes in the box.
